Appeal for witnesses after reported assault in Bournemouth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault in a Bournemouth street.

Police received a report of an assault in Wootton Gardens at around 10.30pm yesterday, Monday 31 July 2017.

A man, aged in his 50s, was found in a property near to the scene of incident with a serious head injury.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injury, which is not thought to be life threatening.

A 58-year-old Poole man has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Nicky Sharpe, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Our investigation is ongoing to establish exactly what happened and we are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information about this incident.”
