Alleged theft of delivery van in Bournemouth – man due in court

A man has been charged in connection with the alleged theft of a delivery van in Bournemouth.

The driver of an Asda vehicle reported that the van had been taken while he was making deliveries in Wellington Road at around 6.35pm on Wednesday 26 April 2017.

A tracker device in the van later identified that it had stopped at Brick Lane in Thorney Hill near Bransgore.

A search was carried out and the vehicle was recovered in the Totton area.

A 47-year-old man, of no fixed abode, has been charged with driving a motor vehicle which has been taken without the owner’s consent, driving whilst disqualified, driving when alcohol level above the legal limit, using a motor vehicle on a road or in a public place without third party insurance and attempted theft.

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 11 August 2017.
