Update – witness appeal following alleged assault in Weymouth

Detectives investigating an alleged assault in Weymouth have arrested a man.

A man in his 40s sustained a serious head injury following a reported assault in the alleyway that runs between King Street and Jubilee Close at around 2.30pm yesterday, Tuesday 25 July 2017. 

He remains in a serious condition in hospital.

A 37-year-old Weymouth man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detectives are still keen to hear from any witnesses to the incident who have not already spoken to police.
