Dorset Police's 101 phoneline has resumed a normal service following a technical fault.

The issue was reported to police at around 1pm today, Thursday 20 July 2017. It was fixed at around 2.45pm.

The technical fault did not affect the emergency number 999 and police were advising the public to report non-emergency enquiries by emailing 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or via the Do It Online function on the Dorset Police website www.dorset.police.uk.

Remember, if your call is an emergency, i.e. a threat to life, or if a crime is in progress, always call 999.
