Witness appeal following collision near Weymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a three-vehicle collision near Weymouth.

At 1.36pm on Saturday 24 June 2017 a road traffic collision occurred on the B3157 between Abbotsbury and Swyre involving a white Mercedes Sprinter van, a white Ford Connect Transit Van and a Royal Enfield motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle – a 55-year-old man from Sherborne – sustained serious leg injuries which are not life-threatening or life-changing. He was taken to Dorset County Hospital for treatment.

Police Sergeant Craig Tatton, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the manner of driving or riding of any of the vehicles involved immediately prior to the incident to please contact Dorset Police.”
