Appeal following assault near Sturminster Newton

Officers are appealing for information following an assault near Sturminster Newton.

At approximately 10.20am on Saturday 27 May 2017 a road traffic collision occurred along Station Road in Stalbridge between a silver Volkswagen Passat and a blue Citroen Picasso. 

Damage was caused to wing mirrors on both cars. 

Following the collision, both vehicles pulled over on the side of the road. The Volkswagen driver then approached the Citroen driver.

An altercation took place where the Citroen driver pushed the Volkswagen driver – a man aged in his 40s and from Somerset – to the floor.

The victim sustained a broken nose and cuts and bruising to his face.

Police Constable Vicky Worboys, of Blandford police, said: “I am appealing to a woman who was in the area at the time of the incident walking her dog to please get in touch. 

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has any information that may assist with my investigation.”
