Witness appeal after alleged armed robbery at Bournemouth store

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an alleged armed robbery at a store in Bournemouth.

At 10.52pm yesterday, Monday 5 June 2017, officers were called to reports that a man armed with a handgun had entered One Stop on Seabourne Road, approached the till, asked for money and stole a till tray containing a quantity of cash before leaving the store turning left.

No one was physically injured.

A search of the area was carried out. 

A 43-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and is assisting detectives with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Seabourne Road at the relevant time and saw a man acting suspiciously to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would urge anyone with information about who may be responsible to please get in touch.”
