Update: Man charged following alleged robbery in Bournemouth

A man has been charged in connection with an alleged robbery at a shop in Bournemouth.

Detectives launched an investigation following reports of a robbery at the Londis supermarket in Christchurch Road at around 8.45am on Monday 1 May 2017.

It was reported that a member of staff had been threatened with a knife, with the alleged offender leaving the scene with two bottles of spirits.

The member of staff sustained minor injuries to the hand.

A 45-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possessing a bladed article in a public place.

He appeared before Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 5 May 2017 and is next due to appear before Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday 2 June 2017.
