Road traffic collision in Bournemouth – witness appeal

Officers investigating a road traffic collision in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

The incident, which happened at the junction of Castle Lane East and Holdenhurst Road, was reported to police at 10.53am today, Sunday 23 April 2017.

A red motor vehicle, driven by a man, and a 49-year-old cyclist from Bournemouth were involved in the collision.

The driver of the car briefly stopped and left a mobile number but then drove off.

Police Constable Tim Brehmer, of the traffic unit, said: “The cyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

“We have been unable to contact the driver of the red vehicle and need him to get in touch with us urgently.

“I would also like to hear from any witnesses to the collision, who have not spoken with police yet and might be able to provide more information, and anyone with details about the driver of the red vehicle.”
