Update: Teenager charged in connection with alleged assault in Wimborne

A teenager arrested in connection with an alleged assault in Wimborne has been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm.

The incident is reported to have happened sometime between 11.30pm and midnight on Saturday 21 January 2017 near to Wimborne Library.

The alleged victim, a local man aged in his 40s, was reportedly pushed from behind and kicked in the chest, causing him to fall over and hit his head on the ground.

He sustained a fractured skull and bleed on the brain as a result of the incident.

A 16-year-old boy from Wimborne has been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm and is due to appear at Poole Youth Court on Tuesday 2 May 2017.
