Witness appeal following arson at Weymouth store

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a suspicious fire at a Weymouth store.

At approximately 12.30pm yesterday, Monday 10 April 2017, officers were called to reports of a fire on a roof at the rear of Holland and Barrett in Maiden Street.

It is believed the fire was started deliberately. 

Extensive damage was caused to the roof, a nearby flat and a wall belonging to an adjacent business. No one was injured.

Police Constable Luke Kerslake, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw the incident or knows who is responsible to please contact Dorset Police urgently.

“I would also ask anyone who has video footage or images of the fire to please contact me.”

No arrests have been made.
