Serious road traffic collision in Wimborne - witness appeal

Following a serious road traffic collision officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

On Sunday 2 April 2017 at 10.16am Dorset Police was called to attend a single vehicle collision on the B3078 at Julians Bridge in Wimborne.

A black Kawasaki motorcycle, ridden by a 69-year-old man from Corfe Mullen, collided with the bridge on the approach to Wimborne.

The rider of the Kawasaki sustained serious injuries and was airlifted from the scene to Southampton Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Police Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to the collision or to the manner of riding of the Kawasaki prior to the collision to contact me.”
