Man due in court following robbery in Swanage

A 39-year-old man is due to appear in court charged with robbery.

Officers were called at 3.05pm yesterday, Tuesday 14 March 2017, to Lloyds Bank on the High Street in Swanage following reports that a man had threatened members of staff with a knife and demanded cash.

A small quantity of cash was stolen. No one was physically injured.

Officers carried out a search of the area and arrested a man nearby.

A 39-year-old man from Swanage has been charged with robbery and possession of a knife or bladed article in a public place and is due to appear before Poole Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday 15 March 2017.
