Witness appeal after arson at a Christchurch play park

Police are appealing for witnesses after an arson incident at a play park in Christchurch.

The incident happened at around 7.25pm on Tuesday 14 February 2017 at a park in The Quomps on Wick Lane.

A children's play boat was set deliberately on fire causing approximately £2000 worth of damage.

Nobody was injured in the incident.  

Police Constable Matt Leeding, of Christchurch police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the relevant time to please contact police.

“This play park is really popular among local families and it is disgusting that someone has decided to damage it in this way. I would urge anyone who has any information about who was responsible to come forward”
