A man has been charged following a reported incident involving a weapon in Weymouth.
Police were called at 8.43pm on Saturday 11 February 2017 after reports of a man carrying a handgun in Magnolia Close.
Police, including armed officers, attended the address and a search of the area was carried out. However, no one was located at the time.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
A 22-year-old Weymouth man has been charged with possessing an air weapon with intent to cause fear of violence and appeared before Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday 13 February 2017. He will next appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 16 March 2017.
Detective Constable James Batty, of Weymouth CID, said: "I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police, or has any information which may help me in my investigation to please come forward."
