Witness appeal following alleged burglary in Weymouth

Detectives investigating an alleged burglary at a restaurant in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called at 10.49am on Sunday 29 January 2017 to reports of a burglary at Jasmine Restaurant in Dorchester Road. A quantity of cash and a TV was stolen.

Detective Constable James Mullen, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area of Lodmoor Hill between 7.30am and 9.30am on Sunday to please contact Dorset Police.”

A 30-year-old man and a 45-year-old man – both of Weymouth – have been charged with two counts of burglary and appeared before Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday 30 January 2017. They are next due to appear before Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 2 March 2017.
