Officers have located the owner of an abandoned mobility scooter in Poole.

Police received a call at around 2pm, Thursday 26 January 2017, reporting that a mobility scooter had been found close to the water’s edge near the Twin Sails Bridge on the Hamworthy side.

Police Inspector Derek McKerl, of Dorset Police, said: “Following a number of enquiries, we have now located the owner of the mobility scooter and he is safe and well.

“It has been established that the scooter was stolen from the owner’s garden during the week before it was found abandoned.

“The theft of the scooter was not reported to police.

“Officers would like to thank the public for their help in sharing the appeal and providing information to help with the investigation.”
