Witness appeal after fatal collision in Bournemouth

Police are appealing for witnesses after a single vehicle fatal collision in Bournemouth.

Officers were called at around 12.55am on Sunday 29 January 2017 to reports that a black Renault Clio had collided with a wall at Alum Chine car park on Alumhurst Road.

The driver - a 23-year-old Salisbury woman - suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where sadly she later died.

Her next of kin have been informed and the coroner notified.

The road is currently closed to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.

Police Inspector Derek McKerl, of Dorset Police, said: "Sadly the driver was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at hospital. Her family are being supported by specially trained officers.

"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of the Clio prior to the incident to contact police."
