UPDATE: Alleged robbery in Bournemouth Gardens – man charged

Detectives investigating an alleged robbery in Bournemouth Gardens have charged a man.

Officers were called at around 3.20am on Friday 19 August 2016 to reports that two teenage students were threatened with a hypodermic needle and robbed in the Lower Gardens.  It is alleged a mobile phone and handbag was stolen.

The students – a 17-year-old male student from Saudi Arabia and an 18-year-old female student from Italy - were uninjured.

A 36-year-old man from Bournemouth has been charged with two counts of robbery and appeared before Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 19 January 2017. He is next due to appear before Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 16 February 2017.
