Witness appeal after fail-to-stop collision in Poole

Officers in Poole are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner was hit by a car that failed to stop at the scene.

The incident happened at around 9.07pm on Wednesday 21 December 2016 on a pedestrian crossing in Herbert Avenue, outside St Aldhelm's Academy.

The 67-year-old victim was taken to hospital with injuries to her hand.

The vehicle involved is described as a small silver vehicle, possibly a Peugeot or Citroen.

Police Constable Liz Renshaw, of Poole North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "Fortunately the victim was not seriously injured. I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has information about the vehicle involved to come forward.

"I would also ask the driver of the vehicle to make themselves known to police so they can assist with the investigation."
