Investigation into sexual assault in Bournemouth – man charged

Detectives investigating three sexual assaults in Bournemouth have charged a man.

The 28-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested in the town on Wednesday 14 December 2016.

The arrest was made in relation to an incident on Thursday 24 November 2016 in which officers were called to reports that a local woman, aged in her 20s, had been sexually assaulted in Boundary Road and two other incidents in Boundary Road on Tuesday 13 September and the Slades Farm wooded area adjacent to Boundary Road on Wednesday 14 September 2016.

He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and is due to appear before Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court today, Saturday 17 December 2016.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Derbyshire, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “We have liaised with the Crown Prosecution Service who have authorised the charges.”
