UPDATE: Witness appeal following reported robbery in Weymouth

Four men are due to appear in court charged in connection with a robbery offence in Weymouth.

Two men, aged 20 and 23 and from Exeter, and two 25-year-olds from Weymouth, have been charged with robbery and are due to appear before Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 17 November 2016.

Between 7.30pm and 8pm on Sunday 13 November 2016 it is alleged that a man was walking along a path up to Chapelhay Steps when he was hit in the face with an object before his mobile phone, keys and wallet were stolen.  

The victim, a 26-year-old local man, sustained serious injuries to his face and remains in hospital receiving treatment.

Detective Constable Gerald Marchant, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw the incident or witnessed a group of men in the area at the relevant time to please contact Dorset Police.”
