Update - Appeal following sexual assault in Weymouth

A man has made himself known to police following a CCTV appeal in Weymouth.

Detectives investigating a sexual assault in the town issued a CCTV image on Wednesday 26 October 2016 of a man they believed may hold vital information regarding the incident.

A 67-year-old from Weymouth came forward to police and has been helping them with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.

The investigation relates to a sexual assault that occurred in an alleyway near to the bowling green in Greenhill Gardens at around 12.45am on Friday 21 October 2016.
