Witness appeal following collision in Poole

Police investigating a collision in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

At approximately 7.15am today, Wednesday 26 October 2016, police were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Holes Bay Road, at the junction of Sterte Avenue West.

Two vehicles were involved, a foreign articulated lorry and a Yamaha motorcycle. The rider of the motorcycle, a 21-year-old man from Bournemouth, was taken to Poole Hospital for assessment.

The driver of the lorry, a 43-year-old man from Poland is helping officers with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.

A road closure was put in place at the junction of the A350 southbound. The road was reopened at 8:50am.

Police Officer Tim Brehmer, of Dorset Police's Road Policing team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the manner of driving or riding of either vehicle prior to the incident to please contact me.

"I would also like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road was closed.”
