Witness appeal following assault in Bournemouth

Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following a serious assault in the town.

The incident was reported at 4.56am on Sunday 25 September 2016 and happened in Maddison Avenue.

The victim, a 50-year-old local man, was approached by two men and assaulted with a knife. He sustained serious cuts to his head and was taken to hospital.

One of the offenders is described as black, between 30 and 35 years old, around five feet eleven inches tall and of big stocky build. He has short cropped black hair and was wearing a three quarter length black jacket.

The second man is smaller, of skinny build and aged in his early twenties with short cropped hair. He was wearing shorts.

Detective Constable Matthew Bradley, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about those responsible to contact Dorset Police.”

No arrests have been made.
