UPDATE - Alleged assault in Bournemouth

A man has been charged in connection with an alleged assault in Bournemouth.

The 29-year-old of no fixed abode has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and was due to appear before Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 10 September 2016. He is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 13 October 2016.

At around 11pm on Friday 2 September 2016 it was reported that a man was walking in Holdenhurst Road near to the Queen’s Park pub when he was assaulted by an unknown man.

The victim – a 59-year-old local man – sustained a fractured spine and suspected fractured eye socket.
