Witness appeal following alleged robbery and assault in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating an alleged robbery and assault in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward – with two men arrested.

At around 9pm on Thursday 26 August 2021 the victims - two teenage boys – were in Beaufort Park when a reported altercation occurred involving three men. 

It is alleged that a set of moped keys and a moped were stolen. The moped has since been recovered.

During the incident, one of the boys was reportedly assaulted. He was unconscious at times and sustained injuries that required medical treatment. 

A 21-year-old man from Christchurch and a 24-year-old man from Bournemouth have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault. They are both assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Karen Penn, of Dorset Police’s Priority Crime Team, said: “Our investigation into this incident is underway and a number of enquiries are ongoing.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the park and may have witnessed what happened to please come forward.”
