Assault in Poole - witness appeal

Detectives investigating an assault in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

At 2.32am on Sunday 31 July 2016 Dorset Police received a report that a man had sustained an injury following an assault in the Jolly Sailor at Poole Quay.

The victim, a 53-year-old local man, had entered the pub when he was suddenly struck by somebody.

He was taken to hospital with an injury to his mouth which required treatment.

Detective Constable Jane Millard, of Poole and Bournemouth CID, said: “This was an unprovoked attack and I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with information about those responsible to come forward.”

No arrests have been made.
