Theft and fraudulent card use in Bournemouth – CCTV appeal

15 October 2020
Officers are issuing CCTV images of two people they would like to speak to in connection with a theft and subsequent fraudulent use of a bank card in Bournemouth.

Some time between 3am and 6am on Tuesday 15 September 2020 a bag and purse containing a quantity of cash were stolen from a car that was parked on Maxwell Road.

A bank card was used at shops in the town to make transactions totalling around £100.

Police Community Support Investigator Amy Torrington, of Bournemouth police, said: “Following enquiries I have obtained CCTV images of two people using the stolen bank card at the Esso garage on Bath Road and Co-op on Christchurch Road.

“I appreciate that you are not able to see their faces clearly, however, I am hoping someone may recognise them from the clothing they are wearing.

“I would ask anyone with information about their identity to please get in touch.

“Finally, I am reminding residents to please take all valuables with them when they leave their vehicles.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55200138764. Alternatively, to stay 100 per cent anonymous, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or call Freephone 0800 555 111.
