UPDATE - CCTV appeal following alleged assaults in Wimborne

Officers investigating two alleged assaults in Wimborne town centre have identified a man following a CCTV appeal. 

At around 1.15am on Saturday 11 June 2016 police were called to reports of an altercation involving a group of men outside the Man in the Wall pub in West Borough.

A 30-year-old man from Horton was punched in the side of his face by an unknown man causing reddening and bruising.

A short time later officers received a second call to reports of an assault at the same location.

A 22-year-old local man was punched by another man. A number of men then punched and kicked the victim in the head while he was on the floor. He was rendered unconscious during part of the incident.

The victim was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment to minor injuries and as a precaution.

A 19-year-old man from Poole has come forward and is assisting officers with enquiries. No arrests have been made.
