2019 Disclosures

In relation to the Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme, otherwise known as "Sarah's Law", how many requests has your force received asking if someone who has sufficient access to children has a sex offender's record in the 2018 calendar year?

2. (i) In how many of these requests did the subject have a sex offender's record AND you disclosed the conviction to an interested party?

(ii) Of these positive returns how many of the individuals were registered sex offenders.

3. (i) In how many of these requests did the subject have a sex offender's record AND you did NOT disclose the conviction to an interested party?

(ii) In how many of these cases was the subject a registered sex offender.

4. Of the first ten cases from 1.3.2018 onwards where you disclosed an offender's record please state the main/primary offence that caused concern?

Since the introduction of a right to review of RSO’s enabled by the Remedial Order 2012 of the SOA 2003, could Dorset Police please supply the following information :-

From the introduction of the right to review in 2012 up until the date of this request can Dorset police please confirm :-

1) How many RSO’s have applied to Dorset Police to be removed from the notification requirements of the SOR in total?

2) How many of these applications have been successful, and resulted in Dorset Police taking the decision they no longer had to register?

3) How many of the people whom Dorset policed refused a successful review utilised the appeals process enabled for in the legislation, and subsequently applied to the  Magistrates Court to have Dorset polices refusal overturned?
4)  How many of these applications to the Courts were successful, in that the Courts overturned the initial decision of Dorset Police to refuse a request to be removed from the SOR?
