Purbeck section covers an area in excess of 200 square miles incorporating Wareham, Swanage, Upton, Bere Regis, Bovington, Wool, Briantspuddle, Affpuddle, Winfrith Newburgh, Lulworth, Lytchett Matravers, Lytchett Minster, Bloxworth, Morden, Sandford, Arne, Stoborough, Studland and Kimmeridge.
We are responsible for the policing of the Purbeck Peninsula and World Heritage coastline, areas of outstanding natural beauty which offer many popular holiday destinations in this largely rural area.
Each area has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) led by Sgt Paul Upshall working directly to combat crime and anti-social behaviour issues raised to us by members of the community. Please use the link below to find out who your local officers are and get involved in dealing with the issues that impact you and your family, where you live, work and visit. Purbeck section works closely with partners in Purbeck District Council and their Crime and Disorder lead. We also work with other agencies such as the Coastguard, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue and Youth Services. Community policing is, and will remain, our top priority.
We are committed to reducing crime and bringing to account those that are responsible for crimes and anti-social behaviour. We continue to tackle crimes such as domestic abuse, cybercrime (internet scams, social media harassment) and rural crime (poaching, theft, criminal damage), as we know the significant impact to victims that such crimes cause. Our duty is to protect the community, and in particular our most vulnerable members. We will always seek to build upon our successes in order to make Purbeck safer.
Please feel free to contact us at Wareham Police Station.
