Gillingham Town Shaftesbury Town and Blandford Town Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT) are all supervised by Sgt James Francis and the teams work together to address community issues across the  towns.  Gillingham is a town in the Blackmore Vale area of Dorset. It is the most northerly town in the county. It lies on the B3095 and B3081 roads in the North Dorset area; it is 5 miles northwest of Shaftesbury and approximately 4 miles south of the A303 road. The town also boasts a railway station on the London to Exeter line.

Our NPT has a clear focus on community engagements and high visibility patrols in the area. We work in close partnership with other agencies to help resolve the policing priorities in the local area. We attend many local events as a chance to speak to the community and to answer any questions regarding concerns or issues in the area.
