West Christchurch NPT is  made up of a combination of the Portfield, Jumpers, St Catherine’s hill and Hurn wards, it is a large residential, commercial and rural area including Bournemouth International Airport and is home to approximately 13,160 residents

There is a good mix of residents in the area, with an increasing amount of young family’s moving to the area, there is a good local infant and Junior school in the area, with another primary School currently being built.

There also a large Primary and Secondary School at hurn

We are fortunate to have some fantastic areas of natural beauty such as St Catherine’s Hill, which is popular with walkers, cyclists and dog walkers.

We work closely with local Councillor's and housing groups to tackle any Anti Social Behaviour problems 

Local priorities

Current priorities (last reviewed January 2020):

  1. Acquisitive crime, focusing on shoplifting.
  2. Multi-agency working to assist those more vulnerable in the community from being targeted.
  3. Cyber Crime

Youths gathering in the vicinity of Jumpers Common and Cemetery area believed to be taking drugs and causing Anti Social Behaviour
We did
We Increased patrols in the area, we also liaised with cemetery staff to cut back bushes in area reducing hidden areas. Groups of youths spoken to, drug paraphernalia seized and youths referred to drug workshops
You said
You told us there were issues with rogue traders and doorstep sellers using pressured sale tactics.
We did
We went out with trading standards to educate both customers and traders on legislation and consumer rights. We also gave out prevention advice around those who target the vulnerable.

Neighbourhood policing improves the quality of life within Dorset communities. Working together with partner agencies and problem-solving with local people and groups, we will target the policing issues that matter most in your area.
