The Northbourne and Wallisdown Neighbourhood Policing Team currently has a Police Officer and two Community Support Officers who are available between 8am and 10pm Monday to Saturday. They ensure that, as a top priority, they look after the people in the communities who are the victims of crime and anti-social behaviour. Hi visibility patrols ensure community reassurance, intelligence gathering and manage the anti-social behaviour, mainly around Redhill Common and Slades Farm.
Dorset Police has a clear focus for our Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) resources based upon threat, risk, harm and vulnerability. The operational principles for Neighbourhood policing have been developed after listening to the people we serve and having learned from the most distressing incidents elsewhere in the country.
These Operational Principles are:
- Prioritisation of the needs of the victim - putting the "Victim First"
- Targeted and flexible deployment of officers based upon threat, risk, harm and vulnerability
- Informed and focused community engagement and meetings

Neighbourhood policing improves the quality of life within Dorset communities. Working together with partner agencies and problem-solving with local people and groups, we will target the policing issues that matter most in your area.
Get in touch with us today to raise any issues you have and to find out what priorities we are currently working on. This is your chance to influence the service that the police, and our partners, provide.
You can contact us via the Dorset Police website or social media, where we also promote upcoming meetings and events. We are based at: Winton Police Station 599 Wimborne Road Winton Bournemouth BH9 2AS.
