Accelerated misconduct hearing Tuesday 8 September 2026
An accelerated misconduct hearing conducted by Assistant Chief Constable Mark Callaghan will take place at 9am on Tuesday 8 September 2026 at Dorset Police Headquarters, Winfrith.
An investigation has been conducted in relation to allegations concerning Detective Sergeant William Pearce’s conduct as a police officer. It is alleged that the officer’s behaviour amounts to gross misconduct and has fallen below the Standards of Professional Behaviour:
Allegation 1:
Being absent from his place of duty without authorisation.
Allegation 2:
Accessing/modifying/or disclosing information that was not in the proper course of his duties.
Allegation 3:
Lying to his line manager about an absence from work.
Alleged breaches are:
- Honesty and integrity
- Duties and responsibilities
- Discreditable conduct
- Confidentiality
A misconduct investigation began in relation to the allegations and DS Pearce was placed on restricted duties.
