Police station and counter closures

The Buildings & Estates Department have provided the following information:

I would like to know the number of police stations and police counters that have closed in your Police Force area. 

I would like this information for each of the last seven calendar years: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021.

Following the national directive for Forces to review their Counter Service Enquiry Office provision, six police counters were closed in 2015. Footfall activity and cost was calculated and consultation offered out to public at the time.

Two police stations were closed in 2016 and both facilities re-provided at an alternative location.

One police station was closed in 2017 and the facility re-provided at an alternative location.

There were no closures in 2018, 2019, 2020 or 2021.
