Firearms licencing delays

The Firearms Licensing Department have provided the following information:

Please can Dorset Police provide:

• The minimum time,
• The maximum time and
• The average time, each expressed in days, to grant a Coterminous Shotgun Certificate and Firearms Certificate application during the calendar year January 2021 to December 2021. 

Please supply the results for Dorset Police as

• Minimum days for SGC/FAC coterminous grant); 

Shotgun Certificate = 1 day

Firearms Certificate = 1 day

 

• Maximum days for SGC/FAC coterminous grant and 

Shotgun Certificate = 623 days

Firearms Certificate = 1208 days

 

• Average days for FAC/SGC coterminous grant. 

Shotgun Certificate = 59 days

Firearms Certificate = 156 days
