The Performance and Analysis Department have provided the following information:
The number of cannabis factories found in the last five years. Please break this down by year. Please take ‘found’ to mean either those where the factories were still active, or where criminals had been active but moved on.
To obtain this data we have searched Niche Crime Recording system for the period requested and have searched crimes in relation to: -
- Produce a controlled drug of Class B - cannabis resin (recordable)
- Cultivate cannabis plant a class B controlled drug (recordable)
Or “Cannabis Farm” or “Cannabis Factory” appearing in the occurrence summary report. We have reviewed each occurrence to ensure they are relevant to this request.
We have classed Cannabis Farm or Cannabis Factory as someone who is cultivating Cannabis plants, but this could relate to any number of plants
