The Intelligence Department has provided the following information:

Please provide the following information for the period from 1 June 2020 to 1 June 2026, broken down into one-month intervals.

For each month, please provide the number of recorded offences within the Dorset Police force area that were tagged, flagged, or otherwise marked in Dorset Police systems as relating to "organised crime".

No information held.

We do not have a marker or flag for Organised Crime, however, there are other offence categories that we use that cover the Organised Crime term.

Please also explain how Dorset Police defines or applies the "organised crime" tag or marker, including the types or categories of offences that may be included.

Organised Crime is defined as per the National Serious and Organised Crime Strategy 2023-2028 as: ‘Individuals planning, coordinating and committing serious offences, whether individually, in groups and/or as part of transnational networks.’

The main categories of serious offences covered by the term are: child sexual exploitation and abuse; illegal drugs; illegal firearms; fraud; money laundering and other economic crime; bribery and other forms of corruption; organised immigration crime; modern slavery and human trafficking and cybercrime.

If possible, please also provide the current total number of organised crime groups or organised criminal gangs identified within the Dorset Police force area, subject to any applicable exemptions.
