Drink and drug driving offences

The Performance Analysis Department has provided the following information:

Searches were completed in Niche Custody for the following arrest codes relating to drink and drug driving:

• RT88007 - Drive motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit (recordable)
• RT88008 - In charge of motor vehicle - alcohol level above limit (recordable)
• RT88326 - Attempt to drive motor vehicle - alcohol level above limit (recordable)
• RT88339 - Drive whilst unfit through drink (recordable)
• RT88343 - Attempt to drive vehicle whilst unfit through drink (recordable)
• RT88347 - In charge of vehicle whilst unfit through drink (recordable)
• RT88340 - Drive a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs (recordable)
• RT88344 - Attempt to drive vehicle whilst unfit through drugs (recordable)
• RT88348 - In charge of vehicle whilst unfit through drugs (recordable)
• RT88527 - Cause death by driving without due care / consideration while over specified limit - specified controlled drug (recordable)
• RT88584 - Drive motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit (recordable)
• RT88585 - In charge of a motor vehicle with proportion of specified controlled drug above specified limit (recordable)

Please provide, for each of the last five calendar years (or financial years, if that is how the data is held), the number of individuals dealt with by your force for:

a) drink driving offences;

1. b) drug driving offences; and
   
   
   

1. c) offences involving both drink driving and drug driving arising from the same incident.

The following is the number of custody records that have both a drink driving and drug driving related offence against them as reason for arrest.
