The Performance Analysis Department has provided the following information:

Crime information system – Niche

Data Processing:

Searched for ‘registration plate’, ‘registration mark’ or ‘number plate’ in the Occurrence Entry Log (OEL).

Filtered the results to only include those containing the keywords ‘clone’, ‘fraud’, ‘dodgy’ and ‘ghost’.

This resulted in 1,140 occurrences.

The results were then manually reviewed against the charge of ‘Forge a registration mark / registration document (recordable)’.

The number of reports received of number plates cloned for each year: 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The number of people charged with "fraudulent use of a registration mark" for each year: 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
