The data supplied relates to noisy vehicles reported via Dorset Road Safe there may be other reports into the Force via other means. Dorset Road Safe do not hold data in relation to these, should there be any.
The data at 4 relate to the specific offence of Using a vehicle to cause unnecessary noise (CCCJ Code RC86092) This is a non endorsable £50 fine penalty.
Following a recent government report into roadside noise camera trials to tackle illegal vehicle modifications and excessive vehicle noise

1. Numbers of noisy vehicle complaints in the last 5 complete years, year on year.
2. The outcomes of those complaints, i.e. numbers of NFA, driver fines, seizures of vehicles, and any NIPs.

The Department for Transport are trialling audio cameras and Dorset Police will look at using them once approved along with the necessary legislation.
