1) The total number of Notice of Intended Prosecutions (“NIPs”) for speeding offences issued in the calendar year 2023, broken down by speed limit. Please include all NIPs, regardless of how generated.
2) Of the total number of NIPs above, how many were generated from fixed cameras, also broken down by speed limit.
The Central Ticket Office have provided the following information.
For Officer detected speeding offences, Dorset Police issue paper Traffic Offence Reports (TOR’s) or submit Digital Traffic Offence Reports (PRONTO).
For camera detected speeding offences, we issue Notices of Intended Prosecution (NIP’s).
The offence data relates to the number of Notices of Intended Prosecution (NIP’s) issued by the Central Ticket Office following an automatic camera activation / detection by mobile speed camera van.
