What information is given about the person on the sex offender register when a member of the public makes this request under Sarah's law.
The Safeguarding & Public Protection Unit have provided the following information.
All disclosures are decided on a case by case basis and there is not a set list of what would be disclosed
Generally, information regarding the index offence is disclosed, along with any other relevant sexual convictions, their status as a Registered Sex Offender if applicable and any Civil Order too if that is appropriate.
Please Note: Disclosure of any information must be necessary, proportionate and appropriate and commensurate to the risks involved.
