I am requesting information on planned recruitment campaigns and targets for any entry route, including the number of officers you are seeking to recruit for each role advertised. In addition, I am requesting information on the total number of officers already recruited for each entry route.
The Alliance Resourcing Department have provided the following information.
The force is currently closed for recruitment but has recently contacted candidates who have expressed an interest via our online e-recruitment system for the Detective Entry route. The force is reviewing its pipeline and is currently planning a campaign but as yet no launch date has been set.
The force are seeking to recruit 90 new officers in 2024/25.
The recruitment profile will be seeking 45 Detective Degree Holder Entry (DDHEP) and the remaining 45 will be made up from a mixture of Police Constable Degree Apprenticeships (PCDA), Police Constable Degree Holder Entry (PCDHEP) and Police Professional Degree (PPD). The force also has a working group looking at the entry route Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) and therefore this entry route may also be added to this list in due course.
The force has 3 intakes planned for this financial year in August 2024 (28), January (31) and March (31) 2025. At this time no formal offers have been made but candidates are being progressed through pre-employment checks as follows:
August 2024
20 – PCDA
3 – PCDHEP
5 – DDHEP
1 – PPD
We also have the following number of candidates who have successfully completed the selection progress but have yet to be provided a conditional of appointment (to commence pre-employment checks) or assigned an intake.
