The Performance & Analysis Department have provided the following information.

We downloaded all data via the crime Niche database on Business Objects.

The main crime group was then filtered to show just thefts and within the free text for the occurrence summary and we searched against ‘parcel theft’, ‘parcel stolen’, ‘parcel’ and ‘parcels’

Q1 How many instances of parcel theft (i.e. parcels stolen from somebody’s doorstep, or other cases where thieves steal a package, for example by impersonating a delivery person or homeowner) were reported between the following dates? - 01/08/2023 – 31/07/2024

278 occurrences

Q2 If possible, can you share the number of reported instances of parcel theft (i.e. parcels stolen from somebody’s doorstep, or other cases where thieves steal a package, for example by impersonating a delivery person or homeowner) by month for each of the date ranges provided in question one

Whilst there is a field to record value it is not mandatory. For 264 of the occurrences there is no value recorded

For the 14 occurrences where a value is recorded, the total is £13,491 

Q4 If possible, can you share the most common time of day when parcels were stolen (using the date ranges provided in question one) in the following format
