Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request ref: 01/FIN/24/2285
Version Date: 29/08/2024
The Performance & Analysis Department have provided the following information.
We have conducted a further manual review of the results to answer question 2. To do this we removed duplicate occurrence numbers, and checked in Niche to see whether the location was in fact a jewellery store. Results where it is not specifically a jewellery shop e.g., Argos, or where it is a jewellery stall, e.g., on a market have been removed.
The ‘Occurrence Summary’ contains some of the items stolen with their values. Where this data is not contained within this field, we have reviewed the occurrences on Niche
There are incidents recorded which have been excluded – one is where a theft was reported but later turned out to be an admin error on the behalf of a staff member, meaning nothing was stolen, and the second is recorded as a duplicate in error.
