Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request ref: 01/FIN/24/002545/E
Version Date: 22/11/2024
The Road Safety Team and Performance Analysis Department have provided the following information.
Searches were completed on Storm Incident database for entries with keywords ‘careless cycli’ and ‘dangerous cycli’ in the incident description. The results have been manually reviewed to determine if the incident took place on a pedestrianised area.
Nil return.
Please note:
Dorset Police issue paper Traffic Offence Reports (TOR’s) or submit Digital Traffic Offence Reports (PRONTO) which result in HORT1, VDRS, EDUCATION, CONDITIONAL OFFER OF FIXED PENALTY or COURT.
The data therefore identifies the number of TORs / PRONTO processed at the Central Ticket Office where the outcome is one of CONDITIONAL OFFER OF FIXED PENALTY or COURT.
The data does not include TORs or PRONTO submissions which have been issued/submitted by officers, but to date have not been processed within the CTO.
When I refer to pedestrianised areas I mean areas designated for pedestrians only and areas where access is shared between pedestrians and bikes. This will include footways, footpaths, bridleways, towpaths and any other public right of way.
If you are able to provide specific details about any of the reports, such as where it took place, I would be very grateful.
