The number of recorded road traffic collisions broken down by the age of the driver involved and the severity of the road traffic collision (e.g. no injury, serious injury, death of either the driver or passengers) for 2024 to date, 2023 and 2022.
2. The number of collisions where a young driver (ideally aged 17 – 24) was in charge of a vehicle and collided with another vehicle for 2024 to date, 2023 and 2022. If possible, please include the severity of the collision (e.g. no injury, serious injury, death of either the driver or passengers).
The Dorset Road Safe Department have provided the following information.
These figures show injury collisions reported to the Police within 30 days of the occurrence. It does not include medical episodes, off-road collisions or confirmed suicides. All 2024 figures are subject to change.
Driver age by collision severity – count of driver/vehicles* involved and the highest severity received by casualties in those collisions.
*This includes all vehicles involved, not just motor vehicles – e.g. pedal cycles and horses.
